Aurora HDR is Skylum’s powerful, fast High Dynamic Range (HDR) photo editing application which compliments LuminarAI.
HDR photography uses a popular photographic technique that overcomes the limitations of image sensors in digital photographs. HDR utilizes multiple exposures of the same subject, each shot at a different exposure value. This collection of shots is called a bracket, which is then automatically merged to produce a single image. Using the broader exposure range of the bracket, the resulting image has a richer, more vibrant color palette.
In addition to using brackets, Aurora HDR can also work with a single exposure to enhance detail and extend the dynamic range of the image.
