For this tutorial, we will walk through few steps to edit a landscape photograph using the file QuickStart_Seattle.DNG. photo. You can download the practice file here”
- Select the QuickStart_Seattle.DNG file, then click the Template tab at the top.
- In the For This Photo section, select the Easy Landscapes collection.
- If you don’t see this collection in the For This Photo section, you can access it by scrolling to the bottom of the sidebar and go to Landscapes > Easy Landscapes.
- Then, click on the Long Exposure template to apply it to the photograph. This adds a lot of contrast and color saturation to the image
- Click on the Edit tab at the top of the window and access the Essentials tools at the top of the sidebar.
- Expand the CompositionAI tool.
- Click the CompositionAI button to automatically crop the photo. The resulting crop helps to remove some of the excess foliage in the foreground of the scene.
- Press Return (Mac) or Enter (Win) when finished to commit the crop.
- Access the Light tool. The foreground is a bit too dark and would look better if more details could be visible.
- To do this, increase the Shadows slider to +30 to add brightness to the shadowy areas.
- Access the next tool in the Essentials section, StructureAI.
- Increase the Amount to +26. Notice how the details in the sky and city appear sharper and more in focus after using this tool.

- Expand the Color tool.
- Increase the Remove Color Cast slider to +50 to remove some of the blue color cast that is in the photo.

- Last, scroll down to the Creative section.
- Expand the Mystical tool.
- Increase the Amount to +30 and the Shadows to +70 to give the image a beautiful finishing touch.
